Half a million VET students to be contacted about their training experience

The National Student Outcomes Survey, Australia’s largest survey of vocational education and training (VET) students, has expanded again, and this year will contact almost half a million people who completed training in 2016.

Managed by the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER), the annual survey provides information on employment outcomes, training satisfaction, and the benefits and relevance of training.

“The survey is bigger than ever because this year we’re speaking to more people from private training providers” said Dr Craig Fowler, Managing Director, NCVER.

“With completion rates an ongoing concern, we’re also asking more people why they haven’t completed their qualification. This will give us a better understanding of how people use the VET system and the potential barriers to completion.”

“If you’re contacted, please spare 10 minutes to have your say – it’s vital we hear from as many people as possible”, said Dr Fowler.

The National Student Outcomes Survey is conducted on behalf of the Australian, state and territory governments and includes students who completed a qualification or subject with a VET provider in 2016.

Results from this survey will be available on NCVER’s Portal in late 2017.
