AVETMISS news for RTOs
Close off date for AVETMISS reporting
If you’re a registered training organisation in the process of submitting your 2016 AVETMISS fee-for-service data direct to NCVER, please note that there are only five working days left before the collection window closes on 28 February 2017 (5pm ACDT). Survey news
National employer survey on training underway
Employers across the nation will be contacted in the coming weeks as part of the Survey of Employer use and views of the VET system to find out how organisations employ and train staff, and how effective this training is at meeting their needs. The survey aims to collect the views of 9000 employers between now and June this year.
“We urge employers to have their say. The survey only takes around 10 minutes and this is your opportunity to help inform policy and shape future training” said Dr Craig Fowler, Managing Director, NCVER.
“In 2015 we learnt that around half of employers use the VET system, and roughly three in four are satisfied that vocational qualifications give employees the skills required for their job” he said.

Student entitlement models proving effective in Victoria
A new study, commissioned by NCVER, investigates the results of the Victorian Training Guarantee (VTG) between January 2011 and June 2012, with those aged 25 to 54 years. It finds that Victorians who make use of government subsidies for up-skilling are making smart choices, opting for courses that match labour market needs and offer good graduate salaries.
