NCVER uses statistical methods to estimate apprentice and trainee activity, such as the number of commencements and completions, each quarter. We do this to adjust for reporting lags, as accurate counts take some time to accumulate and waiting for all the data to be submitted reduces their usefulness.
The interactive Apprentices and trainees estimates review dashboard aims to assess the accuracy of the estimates published by NCVER, by comparing the published estimates against the final counts that emerge over time.
