Completion and attrition rates for apprentices and trainees 2021: data slicer

11 August 2022

THIS DATA ITEM HAS BEEN SUPERSEDED.

For the most recent release please see the Apprentices and trainees collection page.

Description

Apprentice and trainee observed actual completion rates are calculated by tracking the outcomes of contracts of training over time. Individual completion rates take into account individuals recommencing, or ceasing one contract and starting another in the same or superseded qualification, with a different employer. For those in trade occupations, most complete within 4 years, while for those in non-trade occupations, most complete within 3 years.

The data slicer allows users to create customised charts containing individual and contact completion rates, for apprentices and trainees commencing in 2017, for various student demographic and employment variables, noting that 2017 is the latest year for which observed actual rates are available for all occupations.

The figures in this product are derived from the Completion and attrition rates for apprentices and trainees 2021 publication.
