Completion and attrition rates for apprentices and trainees 2023: data slicer

12 September 2024 This data is part of the Apprentices and trainees collection

Description

The data slicer presents completion and attrition rates for apprentices and trainees to date, i.e. incorporating the most recent data available up to 2023.

Apprentice and trainee contract completion and attrition rates are calculated by tracking the outcomes of contracts of training over time. Individual completion rates take into account individuals recommencing, or ceasing one contract and starting another in the same or superseded qualification, with a different employer.

The data slicer allows users to create customised charts for individuals and contracts that commenced between 2017 and 2019 by various student demographic and employment variables. Caution should be taken when comparing cohorts using to-date rates, as earlier cohorts will have had more time to complete than those that commenced more recently.

Please note: Data for the 2017 and 2018 commencing cohorts differ from those presented in Completion and attrition rates for apprentices and trainees 2023, which are calculated four years after commencement.
